Cargo & logistics development
Development of the largest cargo and logistics hub in Northern Europe.

Logistic park in the Eastern Area
The area is already occupied by several well-known companies, such as Kuehne+Nagel, DHL Aviation, PostNord, WFS and FedEx.
Copenhagen Airport is ideally positioned between the US and the Middle East and delivers one of the shortest cargo transit times in Europe. With direct access to the E20 highway connecting to Copenhagen to Sweden, Germany, and the rest of Europe, the location secures overnight road connections to over 900 cities in Europe. The Fehmarn Belt tunnel is expected to be completed in 2029 and will ease and simplify transit between Germanys northern catchment area. The airport is also in close proximity to major cargo terminals and the ports of Copenhagen and Malmö, Sweden.
Copenhagen has the sixth largest UN campus in the world and is an important gateway for relief aid. E-commerce is growing and becoming an important part of goods transported through Copenhagen Airport.
The export of machinery and components for industrial use is a growing air cargo business. Other notable commodities are fresh fish from Norway and vehicle components from Sweden, as well as inbound clothing and consumer goods, which secure a great balance between export and import.
E-commerce
The Scandinavian e-commerce market alone is one of the largest in the world with internet retail sales exceeding EUR 50 billion. Imports from China are sharply rising. By having an e-commerce logistics centre in Copenhagen Airport, you can provide overnight delivery throughout Scandinavia.
Pharma
A second development option is for temperature-controlled warehouses specifically for the pharmaceutical - and biotech industries, which are substantially represented in Greater Copenhagen – an area known as Medicon Valley housing more than 200 biotech, medtech and pharmaceutical companies.
These new warehouses provide international companies with state-of-the-art storage facilities and fast direct access to and from the rest of the world.
Perishables
The area is also ideally suited for a fresh goods terminal for short-term storage of perishables such as dairy, fish, fruit, flowers and vegetables.
The volume of such products being freighted through Copenhagen is sharply rising and a dedicated terminal development would further escalate this growth.
Logistics centre
There are overnight road connections from Copenhagen to more than 900 European cities and 100 million consumers, and with the launch of the Copenhagen Airport's cargo and logistics park, the potential for enhanced distribution is substantial.
