A Part of Copenhagen Airport

CARFA is situated within Copenhagen Airports A/S. The location and environment contribute to making the experience as realistic and true to life as possible.

Our Offerings

In addition to training airport firefighters, we offer various fire and rescue-related courses for emergency services and crew personnel both nationally and internationally.

Some of the courses we provide include first aid, basic firefighting, sea rescue, wet drills, and ARFF (Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting).

Facilities and Training Equipment

We have several training facilities, including our Airbus A320/B737 mock-up, an offensive container, and the PIP quarter, which contains a DC-8 and three CRJ-900 aircraft. With these resources, we can tailor courses to provide the exact training scenarios our participants require.

CARFA has three classrooms: two in the main building, equipped with AV equipment, catering, and changing rooms, and a third in the "Green Mansion," which can be used for briefings or evaluations after an exercise. Catering and personal equipment rental are always available.

Fire Training House

Carfa's new firehouse is from 2024, and unlike traditional firehouses, it is powered by gas. This means that there is a cleaner and controlled combustion in connection with exercises in the firehouse. This is beneficial for both the environment and the working environment.

The new firehouse illustrates scenarios at sea and on land. The land part has scenarios from multi-storey buildings with a fire in a computer/workstation, kitchen fires, fire in a floor separation and car fires. The water part of the firehouse contains a ship's engine and ladder access to the engine room.

The firehouse offers the opportunity to train many different scenarios and since the house runs on gas, it is possible to train many times during the same training day. The firehouse contains the latest technology that ensures that safety is top notch. There are temperature sensors and emergency stops in all rooms of the firehouse, so that all exercises can be stopped at any time. This means that the firefighter can focus on good training, while at the same time knowing that safety is under control.

The History of CARFA

CARFA was founded out of a strong sense of professional pride and a desire to share knowledge across borders.

Thousands of hours of training over the years, combined with extensive expertise and teaching skills among the Rescue & Firefighting staff, led to the official opening of CARFA as a training center on May 1, 2014.
